Anyone else looking forward to Euro 2004?
Edited on Fri Jun-11-04 06:13 AM by Pert_UK
COME ON ENGLAND!

I'm going to have to juggle girlfriend, work and watching goddamn football for the next few weeks....not going to be easy, especially with a business trip to Holland and the Glastonbury festival in the way........But I'll manage somehow.

I watched nearly ALL the games last time - my office put up screens and let us go to the pub during the World Cup too!

We're going to give them Frenchies a damn good licking on Sunday!

Wooooooooo!

Any other football fans out there? Any European DUers?

Oddly for a Brit, I'll be rooting for Germany too (although not against UK or Ireland teams).

3. I can hardly await it
sadly I have to agree with the Titanic (German Onion):

As the Euro has the advantage of happening just one time-zone away, I'll be able to catch most games  :toast:

4. There are no other UK or Irish teams
we all got gubbed in the playoffs. I'll look after your girlfriend for you:evilgrin: I'm nice that way.

I'm not really interested in fitba' at the best of times, but without Scotland I'll just give the whole thing a miss.

5. The only match I ever saw at Wembley was when.....
Scotland beat England.........

Gutted, especially as I flew up to Stirling the next day to work there - people were VERY pleased to see me.

Yeah, I must admit that I thought no other UK / Ireland teams were in, but wasn't sure.

I wasn't trying to rub your noses in it!

Didn't the Welsh qualify and then get disqualified due to a player testing positive for drugs? I bet he was popular.....

6. The Welsh didn't qualify...
the Russians beat the Welsh, but one of the Russians tested positive, though the team was not disqualified, despite protests from the Welsh.

I can imagine you would have been very popular in Scotland after that. :)

7. Well I got that arse=backwards didn't I?
Oh well.......

Shame about the Welsh....More of a shame that Ryan Giggs decided to play for them and not England!

My gf is half Welsh, half South African......So we had quite a lot of fighting during the Rugby, especially when we actually went to watch the SA vs England match in Perth (hence my painted face in the piccie).

Can't wait for the joy of football!

I work for an Events Management company, and they're talking about setting up cinema projectors to watch the matches during the week!

Ho ho!

9. It'll be a good tournament
It's on pay-per-view, again (since Euro 2000) and I have a tavern near by that'll be showing the games. Not that I don't like England, but I like the Netherlands, too.

13. My friend is in Portugal
He's a schoolteacher (2nd career) and has the summer off, so he's on his way to Euro 2004 for at least 10 days. I should've asked him who he's rooting for, but I know he's partial to England.
