6. Actually,
you can delete all the temp folders. Windoze will just make new ones.

The problem is finding where all those temp, cookie, and history files are. There's also a master history file that Windows doesn't allow you to delete.

I use Steganos Internet Trace Destructor, available at www.steganos.com, but I only use that one because it came bundled with some other stuff I bought.

Free ones are available via:

http://www.pricelessware.org/2003/PL2003FILEUTILITIES.htm

Make sure that the \windows\temp\... folder is regularly cleaned. It gets filled up pretty fast, and sometimes interferes with applications.

3. Why do you want to do this?
Just curious.

Do not do what poster number 2 said.

7. Best idea yet....
Stop using Internet Explorer. Use Firebird, or Opera. These browsers are much better than Explorer. Tabbed browsing, pop-up/ad stoppers, and very customizable.

firebird

opera

8. This is true,
I use Opera and Mozilla, but Windoze insists on setting up those temp and cookie files anyway.

There's probably an IE 6 buried somewhere on my hard drive, and that may be doing some of it, even though I don't use it, but Windoze has it's own routines to hide cookies and urls all over the drive.

Go figure...
