:grr:

Now, instead of having one little wound in my arm, I have two. It ripped a hole in my skin about 1/2 inch by 1 inch. And I can't put a band-aid on them 'cause they'll just rip off more pieces of my skin.

Ouch. That kinda hurt.

5. Real band-aid brand
The box is a couple years old. I wonder if the older glue "cured" faster.

8. LOL- Great Image! (weird version!)
P.S. I told my 9 year old what you posted to ZenLefty (he's in bed playing with Legos) and he grinned and exclaimed, "something that heals you hurts you instead!?"

6. *wince*
Three hints-

Use fabric bandaids rather than latex type.

Put a bit of baby oil or vegetable oil on adhesive part for a few minutes to loosen bandaid.

Do you have polysporin/neosporin type ointment(generic store brands are fine)? We think it helps cuts & scrapes heal much more comfortably- the area stays supple and doesn't get infected.

9. MAD Magazine's Don Martin
Anyone remember one of Don Martin's strips from MAD Magazine where the little boy is exerting great effort to remove a band-aid? His mother takes ahold of one end, telling the youngster he needs to take it off quickly in one snap. But when she does so, it removed two cube-shaped chunks down to the bone to either side of the tiny scratch while the boy looks on in (horrified) wonder.

12. I've now got a non-adhesive pad on it.
Held in place by an Ace elastic bandage. Looks like I've been shot in the arm or something, but it's holding up well.

13. I did that trying to wax my legs one time.
OK--this is my "I'm a moran" confession for today, but yes, I did just that trying out a home waxing kit one time.

I ripped a strip of skin off my shin when I tried to wax my legs with one of those home kits. (I'm not gonna give you details of how I went out and got drunk and went home to try again in the OTHER leg, but yes, I did THAT too, so I had matching skinless strips on the fonts of BOTH legs!) It took a few days to heal up, and I looked really stupid with raw patches on BOTH shins, but it did finally heal up.

As for band-aids, stick them on a bit of fabric and pull them off again before you put them on your skin. They don't stick quite so tight that way. :)

14. Youch.
I can relate. Had surgery 3 weeks ago and the bandage wounds are just now healing, and I've had the bandage off for 2 weeks. I have a 3X 5 rectangle scab. Just lovely. :eyes:
