Mallard Fillmore is to intelligent conservatives what - well, heck, I can't think of a liberal strip one twelfth as stupid, and come to think of it I'm having a hard time thinking of any intelligent conservatives. Anyway, Mallard sucks. Any of you all ever read it?

I don't get (have) to read MF much - my parents get it in their local paper. It is awful - not funny, pretty mean sometimes. But MF is definitely the WORST "comic strip" ever. Hands down.

I have always like Cathy - it tends to lampoon the corporate world. I am certainly not a big fan of man-bashing. She also got moved to some editorial pages because she did cartoons in support of Dukakis. She is a stereotype - but really a reductio ad absurdum of the stereotype rather than a defense of it.

Leo Garza's 'Nacho Guarache' started years ago as a 'Doonesbury'-like cartoon called 'Needles.'

Horrid radical right Mexican American strip from San Antonio. Editorial page fodder, but supposed to emulate Doonesbury. Incredibly insipid and unfunny.
