Spent Yesterday at the Naval War College
In Newport, RI. What a pretty place to be.

They were celebrating the 62nd anniversary of the Battle of Midway. My son commanded color guard for the opening ceremonies.

We took a tour of the college. Then there was an amazing reception (during which all the outdoor flags were lowered to half-mast--it was pretty weird to witness that) and then a wonderful play about different people's accounts of the Battle. Then presentations to 7 Midway Veterans.

Then a wonderful dinner by Newport Harbor.

What a lovely day.

1. Newport is great, good memories of Officer Indoctrination School there
many moons ago. Always go for the twofer lobster special at the Boathouse, if it's still there...
