we don't need this fascist groove thang
Democrats are out of power
Across that great wide ocean
Reagan's president elect
Fascist god in motion
Generals tell him what to do
Stop your good time dancing
Train their guns on me and you
Fascist thang advancing

Brothers, sisters, we don't need this fascist groove thang

4. Anyone remember Bonzo Goes To Washington's "5 Minutes?"
Bootsy Collins created that recording in 1984, after the Gipper made one of his famous gaffes in front of a mike he didn't know was open:

"My fellow Americans, I'm pleased to tell you today that I just signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes."

Since the mainstream press wasn't up to looking such senile psychosis in the eye, Bootsy Collins took it upon himself to do so. He cut up Reagan's words and placed them over a funky beat--so funky, in fact, that the resulting 12-inch single became an underground dance-club hit!
