Then they are brought out, dusted off and updated.

In 2001, CNN activated the links to a series of canned obits. They pulled them pretty quickly, but not before they got preserved for posterity. Notice CNN is now showing the Reagan one in their special reports section.

Dead: Hope, Reagan (Queen-Mother Elizabeth's info also was on some of them)
Not Dead Yet: Cheney, Pope, Mandela, Castro, Ford. (Yeltsin links are on Ford's obit).

Well, I guess it's time to update you death pool scorecards.
