4. It's not my 'hood, so no. I was hoping someone else knew a bar
around there. WhoCountstheVotes and I were going to meet on 9th Ave at about 6:30, when it occurred to me it would make more sense to get closer.

Does anyone know of a good meeting place near 42nd and 5th?

3. (Waving hand frantically)
Me, me, me!

I just hope it's not too terribly mobbed. What time are you planning to get there?

9. May I nominate Ben & Jerry's?
Ben & Jerry’s

Indulge in one or many of Ben & Jerry’s® ice cream flavors made from fresh Vermont milk and cream, and have it served in a cone, a dish, a milkshake, a sundae, or a hand-packed pint. There are two Ben & Jerry’s® locations: one is located at Andrew Heiskell Plaza in the northwest corner of the park, by the intersection on 42nd Street & Sixth Avenue, and the other is located on the Library Terrace in front of the New York Public Library on 5th Avenue.

10. They don't have Pilsner flavored ice cream by any chance, do they?
;)

It could just be the Friday talking, but I might want a nice cold beer beforehand. But I would meet wherever DUers want to.

11. Hey, here's a place from your link.
Bryant Park Pub

Specializing in sandwiches, The Bryant Park Pub serves hand-packed six-ounce sirloin burgers, freshly grilled veggie burgers, chicken breast sandwiches, and Philly cheese steaks. Buy them a la carte or as a combo with steak fries and a fountain drink. The Pub also serves fresh composed salads to go. The Bryant Park Pub is located on the southwest corner of the fountain terrace near the intersection of 40th Street & Sixth Avenue. $

16. I'm doing a hundred things at the same time
But when I get a second, I'll throw a poll together, taking into account Rabrrrrrr's suggestions, too.

15. There's also a bar/restaurant right in the park
behind the library. That could be doable, though it might be really packed.

There's a nice bar at the Michael Jordan's steakhouse in Grand Central that, at the time you would be meeting, shouldn't be very crowded at all, and would likely be easy to find each other.

There's also the Oyster bar at GCT.

There's a Starbucks hut on the NW corner of the park.
