3. Yes, I shared a house with "Fred"
Edited on Sun May-30-04 12:53 PM by achtung_circus
he was a creepy sort if you were a woman, but he never bothered me. He had loud parties in the middle of the night, women would wake up in the middle of the night to see him standing at the end of the bed watching them. When there was a violent deatin the hoe he left.

The people who explain these sorts of things say he was shown the way by the soul of the suicide.

edit: I need to use spell check consistently

7. here is a pic of some sort of entity or energy. this pic was taken
at a house in NJ about ten years ago. There are four pics and each has the fuzzy white thing in the lower left corner. I don't know if you can see enough detail in this pic....but if you look closely you can see part of the newell post through the white fuzzy thing which gives the impression that it was moving. The thing was not visable when the pics were taken, but showed up on the
print.

8. I've been around ghosts
and talked with people who have crossed over. The ghosts are the ones that can be freaky, as I feel they are spirits that are stuck here, unwilling to go on for some reason.

9. I always did but one time I watched
Edited on Sun May-30-04 01:31 PM by georgiajess26
this 2 hour program on TLC about this haunted house in CT. It used to be a funeral home and the poor kids who lived there were so scared of the things happening they would sleep with the lights on. Then the dad got mad at the electric bill and would unscrew all the light bulbs at night. The parents didn't believe the kids until later. When they first moved in a voice called the oldest kid by name and told him to leave, and the realtor was mopping the kitchen floor and the water turned red. I would have been long gone by then.

19. I watched that special
It scared the hell out of me because it was a true story. Can you imagine being one of the kids that had to sleep next to the room with the embalming table.

:scared:

27. The family was broke
They couldn't move because they were broke and they had to stay in that house.

I would have went to a shelter before staying in that house or I would have slept in my car.

Even though I haven't experienced one. Not sure about what they are exactly, though. I have always been interested in the paranormal, but I'm too chicken to be an investigator.

14. I don't like them shadow folk
Don't know much of what people think they are, if they're anything at all, but they sound not my cup o' tea if they really are out there. They'd better stay away from me, the mofos...see, they're already giving me goosebumps. If there's anything at all actually there, or perhaps not-there, maybe it's something really cool like a thinning in the division between ours and a parallel universe. I could dig that.

Some of this stuff makes plain, old-fashioned Caspers downright prosaic.

Had some freaky experiences myself and still recall my grandmother's stories...she was very 'sensitive.'

16. Hell yes
The stories I've got...

The best, cos my entire family was there as proof, involves my first real house that I used to live in, which was in Grately. The house used to be a vicarage, and, one day my father decided to clear the chimneys.

First one clears fine, but the second proved to be a bit tricky. It cleared from the bottom fireplace but he kept getting stuck about halfway up, past the second fireplace's entry into the flue.
So, he goes upstairs.

Now, the house had 2 "ends". Our rooms were in the "warm end" and there were 2 other bedrooms in a "cold end". My sister slept in a room that was separated from one of the other bedrooms by a small walkthrough wardrope with doors on both sides. She once claimed that she had got stuck in their for an hour when she'd gone in and both doors had slammed shut, trapping her in. We didn't hear her shouting and it was only after my mother went looking for her that we found her, crying her eyes out, saying that it felt like people were holding the doors shut on her (they both opened outwards).
Anyway, my dad went up to the other room bedroom in "the cold end" (which had always been cold, even when a heater had been on in it all day in the middle of summer and the rest of the house was sweltering) and starts pushing the chimney brushes up the flue.

My mum, sister and myself were in my sister's room and suddenly heard a scream, that kept going on and on and on. We ran towards it and found my father screaming in the flue. Only problem was that my dad is 6'2", a bit portly, and has a deep voice. The scream was that of a high-pitched voice (either a woman's or a young childs).
My dad is pushing for all he's worth on the brush and then, after maybe half an minute, every door in the house, in order can be heard to shut from the front door all the way through to the final door of the room we were in.
As it slams shut, a wind blows through and up the chimney and my dad gets a backdraft of soot in his face as the blockage clears.
After that, the "cold end" is as warm as the rest of the house.

I'll be the first to admit that I think that everyone of you with a personal story is a liar.

24. "Liar"? Perhaps you just invited yourself into hair-raising experiences.
One of the classic ways to get a persistent ghost on your case.

21. My daughter (13) is big on ghosts
I don't believe in them, but she can really creep me out anyway when she walks into a building (usually an old one) and announces that it's haunted.

She can communicate with trees and plants too.

there have been plenty of sightings, though how many were mistaken I don't know, but there seems to be no scientific basis for them.

23. No. I want to.
I've never even had a hint, just a couple of times I was spooked and creeped out for no real reason.

The only times I saw anything, I was really upset, or in some state of sleep. I would love to see evidence of another plane of existence. I invite it.

But, no, I don't believe. As I said, the times I question whether or not I might have seen something, are explainable due to my altered state of consciousness at the time.
