Even with a huge lead towards the very end (with the game in hand already), those Laker SOBs still tried to win the damn thing... Fisher hit a three and actually pulled it to a 2-point loss...:grr::grr::grr:

Oh well, we win 98-96 and play in LA on Monday.

2. You have to win by 15 to actually win by 2 against this team.

4. I have doubts too...
At the beginning of the series, my head was saying Lakers in 6, but my heart was saying Wolves in 7.

I think the biggest thing is the season is extended by 2 days.

9. Except for the Twins...
Considering out of the last four times they've been to the playoffs, they've won it all.
Okay, yeah...so that was thirteen years ago.
But hey, what a year it was.
So the Twins, as bad as they've been in the 90's, actually have a pretty good record when they make it to the playoffs. The last two years notwithstanding, of course...

11. Wow! thanks
I was beginning to think of MN teams as always bridesmaids but never brides: Twins vs. the Angels last year, Wolves vs. the Lakers..

Can't wait for the LA papers tomorrow. Last week they did not take it well..

13. Hoiberg endorses Edwards for VP in post-game interview!!
In addition to a great victory by the Wolves, out of the blue Fred Hoiberg announced his support for John Edwards VP in a post-game interview on TNT. Both Magic and Charles Barkley agreed saying what a great ticket that would be -- maybe Magic is not such a worthless addition to the TNT crew after all. GO WOLVES!!!

14. And the view from LA (LA Daily News)
Los Angeles Daily News

Now it's necessary
Lakers let it get away, so there will be a Game 6

By Howard Beck
Staff Writer

Sunday, May 30, 2004 - MINNEAPOLIS -- As it turns out, the Lakers have not changed much since the early days of their dynastic run, when big leads vanished and their personality changed nightly and no playoff series ever seemed entirely safe.

There are more stars in the lineup and more experience lining the locker room, but the Lakers have retained their unique talent for delayed gratification and surprisingly ill-timed letdowns.

With the chance to finish off the Minnesota Timberwolves and earn a trip back to the NBA Finals, they instead reverted to old, bad habits, suffering a 98-96 loss Saturday night at Target Center.
