We were waiting for a new registration, since we bought a new car and were transferring plates. The dealer did the paperwork, and overnighted it to us. Airborne, hereafter known as The Worst Delivery Service Ever With The Exception Of UPS, left it by the garage door - 2 ft. (!) away from Kate and Dan the dogs. They promptly dragged it out in the backyard and ate the package and its contents. I came home to find registration pieces by the back porch.
Yesterday, Mrs. DB took the pieces down to DMV, who found it of course quite amusing, but not as amusing as the man who brought in a license plate minus the renewal sticker, which his goat had managed to scratch off and eat. They gave us a new registration, and we then looked for the plates we wanted to put on the car.
We couldn't find them! Back off to DMV today, where we paid $10, reported them missing/stolen, and got temp plates until the new plates arrive (they're special plates, so they have to make them).
This rates about a 7 on the Stupid-O- Meter, and I am hoping we don't lose anything else in the interim.
