LynneSin's Reds are *en fuego*
Edited on Tue May-25-04 09:57 AM by Richardo
Last night they Completed a 4-game sweep of the formerly first place Houston Astros. Madre de Dios!

Houston has lost five in a row - one trip through that amazing pitching staff without a win. You can hear brains exploding throughout the city.

Most importantly: How does this affect Pittsburgh? The Astro's skid makes the Pirates look less terrible than they are. Although they remain in the safety of the basement, the Bucs have won 6 of 10 and are only 2 games under .500.

3. Wow, I missed this thread
I was in a meeting doing something silly like work :eyes:

Not only my Reds are in first place, but so are the Phillies. And if the Phillies win the world series that means Matcom has to post his naked ass on DU ( I was too afraid to make that bet with the reds because they are so medicre in the past years)

:bounce:

Jes, kidding all you supporters of camp flip-top.

5. Is this the most even division in baseball or what?
Only 5 games separate the top from the bottom.

However, my fantasy team (with Clemens and Wade Miller) took a hit thanks to the Reds. x(

7. I've got Pettitte on my roster...
...and have not been overwhelmed. I picked him over Clemens and Randy Johnson (still one of the best porn names ever) 'cause they were "too old".

Those geezers showed me.

6. The Reds are playing over their heads.
At the moment, the Cubbies DL list looks like anybody else's starting line-up and they're still only a half game out.

Come August, it'll all be over. The Cubs will run away with it.

8. I don't know about that.
Houston's pitching aside from Clemens has been up and down all season too. If Miller and Oswalt get it going, and Clemens and Pettite pitch well, they'll be in it, too. Plus, Houston can still hit with anybody.

That said, my Cardinals are staying in this race with a smoke and mirror pitching staff. I don't know who most of these guys are, but they're doing OK. Woody Williams looks terrible, though. :-(

10. Dream on!!!!
The Cubs pitching staff is second in the NL and third in all of baseball............and Prior hasn't even thrown his first pitch yet.

Sosa, Grudzielanek, Gonzalez, Wood, Prior, Mercker...all on the DL right now. Just got back Reminger too.

Can't wait for today's game. Zambrano should breeze.

Tommorrow's game....Maddox against Pettite.

It's funny, all the talk about Prior and Wood and Maddox. But the two best Cubs starters are Zambrano and Clement. I watched Clement the other night. When his slider's working, he's unhittable.

:P
