2. That's terrible
I can't understand why there isn't any major boycotts....like truckers. We don't have CB's anymore, but when Clinton was President, we listened to those truckers and they bitched every single day of the week about HIS policies, and if ANYTHING went up in price they went nuts.Gas is way higher now then it was under Clinton. The truckers should be parking their trucks, blocking highways and doing whatever they can to cause havoc. Funny how they don't have any balls when it's a damn repuke in office.I still say if EVERYONE parked their cars and stayed home, they couldn't lower the gas prices fast enough! If everything shut down, how long do you think they would let the price stay over 2 bucks a gallon? I don't go near as much as I used to. I refuse to hand those greedy bastards more money than I have to.I hate the way this country has turned upside down since that freakin moron stole the White House.I've never seen it this bad....ever. :grr:

6. I'm a trucker
There were never any shut downs under Clinton. For one thing, fuel never got that high under him. I heard a few truckers giving it the old Limbaugh routine about morality, but other than that, things were pretty good under Clinton as far as fuel prices go.

Most truckers aren't union any more, so there's no way to organize them. Can you imagine the logistics involved in getting 3 million truckers to stop doing their job at the same time? Another thing is that high fuel prices aren't worth going to jail over or getting your rig impounded. We're just trying to make a living just like everyone else, and even though we might be making less now, we still need to pay the bills and put food on the table. Most drivers can't afford to be out of work for very long. Some people are under the impression that truckers make a lot of money. I make $35,000 a year and that's about average. That's not even enough to buy a house where I live.

I think it's going to take some real drastic measures to get these gas prices down or else we are going to be paying out the arse from now on. Things were pretty darn good under Clinton, but man the truckers I heard talking over the CB really trashed him. I got into it with a few of them when I defended him. Don't take this personally, but a lot of truckers don't have any business claiming the morality bit...I used to date truckers, and I know how most of them are,and the language they use on the CB's....whew!! I never will forget the time we went on a long trip in our RV...we had the CB on and I was just drifting off to sleep when one piped up with this little goody.. : "HEY! Does anyone want to borrow my girl friend before I let the air out of her?" I cracked up laughing. You can hear just about anything on those CB's.....LOL

1.90 or so /gallon

Not really bitching, though . . . thats what we get for being so dependent on a commodity . . . liked it more a few years back at 87 cents, though

There was a guy on from the Lundberg Survey Group. They fully expect gas prices to hit $4.00 a gallon by July - and no relief in sight for a long time.

(BTW, a gallon of regular costs between $1.95 and $2.20 here in Woodbridge, Virginia.)

10. Bicycle! Bicycle! I want to ride by Bicycle! I want to ride my bike!
Alas, we are now paying for poor urban planning. Sprawl and underpriced gas helped poor political choices lead us to this end.

17. So, I'm talking to this guy...
who makes around 6 figures with his overtime, and he tells me his credit card at the gas pump only allowed him 50 bucks worth of gas, so he couldn't fill his 12mpg Suburban.

OK, but then he tells me he doesn't worry about the price of gas while he's still working, but may worry when he retires.

HE DOESN'T WORRY???????!!!!!!!!

I casually mentioned that all those V-8's pulling 3 tons of empty truck around are part of the problem with gas prices, and are screwing the rest of us.

Didn't seem to sink in. Someone else with an SUV chimed in, "Oh, now you're blaming US?"

Well, I put over 50,000 miles a year on the car, and it's part of the job, so I can't do anything about it. Had to run down to DC last night, and between gas and tolls, the drive cost almost 50 bucks. And that's with getting around 35mpg on my car.

Damn near can't afford to work any more.
