Software Questions for Computer Experts
Does anyone know if SoftwareOnline's Memory Turbo is worth getting? Is it safe? My computer has crashed a few times recently due to low memory. Any suggestions. Anyone know of a website to check out if software is safe or not or if it's worth getting?

1. Spend the money on memory
Personally I fart in the direction of any form of 'memory manager'

5. Visit the Viking Memory Configurator
Edited on Mon May-24-04 04:03 PM by trotsky
This will walk you through selecting your particular PC, and telling you what the appropriate memory is.

Then just plug the part number into any number of online retailers (http://www.insight.com , http://www.cdw.com for example) and order.

On edit: corrected typo in URL

8. How about here.................
zipzoomfly.com. The hardest part is determining what kind of memory you need for your system. Consult your owner's guide or manufacturer for that info.

4. Agreed.
Memory is so cheap these days. No memory manager will do for you what another 128 or 256MB of RAM will.

7. Whack on it with a wooden spoon
...and curse its questionable parentage.

Oh, computer experts. Sorry. ;)

9. Virus ?? Spyware ??
before you add memory, make sure you know what's running on your computer ... if you're not running a good anti-virus program and a good spyware blocker (i use spyWareBlaster), you might think of trying that first ...
