Billie Piper is Doctor Who helper

Former pop singer Billie Piper is to play Doctor Who's new sidekick when the cult BBC sci-fi show returns next year.
Piper will star alongside Christopher Eccleston as Rose Tyler in the drama.

She made her acting debut last year in the critically-acclaimed BBC One drama serial the Canterbury Tales.

If you look her up on the internet, you'll find rather a lot of appearances in the British tabloids, when she appeared to be a fairly untalented pop singer who got married very young to an overrated jerk of a TV presenter called Chris Evans. However, last year she surprised everyone with 2 good performances in one-off TV dramas. Not a bad choice in the end.
