Which movie's better in your opinion, "Tombstone" or "Wyatt Earp?"
"Wyatt Earp" just got the 2-DVD deluxe treatment, but I always thought that "Tombstone" was the king of the Earp movies. There's just something about a thoroughly off-his-rocker, shotgun-toting Kurt Russell yelling at the top of his lungs "You tell 'em I'm comin'...and I'm bringin' HELL with me" that sticks in your memory.

Also, regardless of what Val Kilmer might be like as a human being, I always thought he was rightfully applauded as the definitive Doc Holliday.

What do you folks think?

1. "Tombstone" is far superior, IMHO
And I agree with you about Kilmer (but I thought he was a good Batman, too, and others disagree)

18. Better than George Clooney...although ya gotta give Clooney credit...
...for having enough of a sense of humor to describe himself as "the man who single-handedly sank the Batman franchise."

...the truth is that the majority of people find Joel Schumacher responsible for the unwatchable mess that is "Batman and Robin." That's why it became "The Last Batman Movie He Will Ever Direct."

and I also thought that Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face and Jim Carrey as the Riddler worked well, too.

In Tombstone, Kilmer was like Sean Connery in the Bond flicks when he indelibly stamped the "Bond...JAMES Bond..." intro onto the worldwide consciousness. Kilmer was Doc Holiday with a vengeance...Doc EFFING Holiday...:-)

I LOVE that line, and Kilmer delivered it perfectly. Oh, and looked really hot while he was doing it too :D

4. Costner's "Wyatt Earp" was so bad, I walked out on it.

That was an especially tough decision as it happened to be the in-flight movie!

11. Well, that's what I thought, but I wanted to be fair...
Edited on Sat May-22-04 05:59 PM by Bush_Eats_Beef
...and I guess the fair thing to do is declare "Tombstone" the champ!

Damn, what a fine, fine movie.

"I'm here, Huckleberry..."

"Why, Johhny Ringo...you look like somebody just WALKED over your grave!"

"Poor soul...you were just too high strung."

"I'm afraid the strain was more than he could bear."

spelling edits.

15. Tombstone was great!
Full of great quotes including the ones already mentioned:

Why Ed, are we cross? If we weren't friends anymore, I don't think I could bear it.

I have two guns, one for each of you.

I will not be pawed at.

Maybe we should have a spelling contest!

16. Wyatt Earp I found to be superior.
Everyone looked too fake in Tombstone. Val Kilmer looked ridiculous with the obvious fake moustache.

20. Tombstone
And while I liked Kurt Russel's Wyatt Earp, Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday was the best part of that movie.

Not being much of a movie goer or fan to begin with, I have no idea what kind of human being he is, but he was a great Doc Holliday!

22. Wyatt Earp...Dana Delaney is the worst Actress EVER
Wyatt Earp had it's flaws...but it was good...and far more accurate than Tombstone. Dennis Quaid was outstanding...and a more believable Doc Holliday.

Tombstone was entertaining as well though. But Dana Delaney nearly ruined it for me...boy she is bad!!!
