I'm over at jumptheshark.com (looking at the political shows) and I see this for Hardball (2nd to last post):

"This show made the official jump when Chris Matthews gushed like a schoolgirl over Bush in his flight suit. He and G. Gordon Liddy sat there going gaga, talking about how manly Bush was, like they were hoping he would ask one of them to the prom. I can't even think of Chris Matthews anymore without imagining him at work opening up his locker and seeing he has a cut out picture of Bush surrounded by little sticker hearts posted up. I can understand Liddy acting like that, he gets paid to pretend to be impressed by stuff like this, but Matthews bills himself as a journalist, you would think after all these years covering politics, he could recognize this for the cynical publicity stunt that it was, or at least refrain from swooning like a teenage girl at a boy band concert."

Too true! I haven't watched Chris Matthews on purpose since Selection 2000. Okay, I take that back - I think I did watch the show to see John Kerry on the College Tour at the Citadel (?) just before the Iraq vote.

I now prefer to watch my videotapes of the Hardball parodies SNL has done, at least they're honest.
