Homicide probe: Fan poked with object at Coors (Field) dies(wierd)

Police are investigating as a homicide the case of a grandmother who was pricked with an unknown object while leaving a game at Coors Field and who died about two weeks later.

The pricking incident occurred on April 28, said Virginia Lopez, a police spokeswoman. The woman, Nancy Short, 69, of Centennial, died Friday.

"Whether it was intentional or unintentional, she did receive an injury which led to an infection that led to her death," Lopez said.

Before her death, Short told Denver police that she was leaving a Colorado Rockies game, walking through a crowd, when she felt a "pinch" on her left buttock.
