FARGO, N.D. -- A man who said he was fed up with his cellular phone service went to a Fargo mall and started hurling phones across a store, striking an employee and causing more than $2,000 in damage, authorities said.

Jason Perala, 22, of Fargo, told The Forum newspaper that he planned only to yell at employees at Verizon Wireless.

"Then I just lost it," he said. "I just started grabbing computers and phones and throwing them. I just destroyed the place. ... I kind of regret that I did it, but I hope my message got across."

Police said Perala took off his shirt and put on safety glasses before throwing around computers, phones and other items.

These cell service providers need to be taught a lesson in connectivity.

3. I wouldn't do it myself and I'm against
destruction of private property, but there's part of this that makes me smile.

I am one of about six or seven Americans left who does not have a cell phone yet. The service sucks, the service plans are a ripoff, and there is nothing close to value for the money involved in cell phones.

From my experience being forced to carry a company cell and then being blamed for not answering calls that I never fucking received, I look upon this guy as someone who did something that was wrong, but which also made me smile when I read about it.

6. Before I even saw the article, I thought. "Was it Verizon?"
:grr: Let's just say they're not exactly my favorite company either. :grr:

8. Verizon Eats Poop website
We found this accidentally one day. Cracked me up.

I hate Verizon as well. They completely suck. I tried cancelling my cell service with them after getting service with T Mobile. They continued billing me in error. When I called in about it, they refused to cancel the service because I owed a balance.

Only, I didn't.

They are NUTS and hounded me forever.

9. I also am one of the 6 people who refuses to carry a cell phone,
And this is one of the reasons why. Verizon kept billing my son way after he canceled service and it took months for them to get it right. I agree that the service plans are a total ripoff, and the bills are impossible to decipher. I don't need the aggravation. I will take my chances that one day I'll break down in the middle of nowhere with no way to call anybody. I just can't do the cell phone thing.

10. Hey, half of us are here at DU!
I don't have one either. I'm required to carry one for work, but I have to pay exorbitant rates for any personal calls (and I have horrible phone phobia), so I don't use it.
