My uncle and his companion are ex-State Department. The following joke is making the rounds at State. It's preceded by his comments.

"Now that foreign policy has been turned over to the
DEFENCE Dept., this is how the STATE Department
occupies itself. Pretty clever. Just shows what
those Foreign Service entry trivia exams do for you.

"The Lord help our country to return its principles."
