4. A confession
the list is of the top nine countries by wine production in ascending order, but SA was actually ninth and I bumped them off because I've never heard of SA wine....

6. South Africa actually makes excellent Sauvignon Blanc...
...and is coming along quite nicely with Cabernet -- almost a cross between Bordelais/Californian styles.
