Another "hate America" liberal
I returned from a two-week trip to Japan this week. I usually have a sort of reverse culture shock when coming back from there, but this time it was a total revulsion. Maybe it was a combination of visiting the Peace Park area of Nagasaki, reading Against All Enemies on the plane, W's holding up in the opinon polls, and I-don't-know-what. This tipping point I've been hearing about -- and waiting for -- had better come pretty soon. People have to wake up.

I may be voting absentee this year.

1. Go Ahead And Fill In An Absentee Ballot
Your local election board will have a paper ballot that HAS to be counted.

2. Interesting you should say that. My hubby and I have the same
"reverse culture shock" when we come back to the U.S. What a lot of Americans perceive as "high energy" just seems to us to be a lot of noise and action over nothing important. A lot of attention paid to stuff that is completely irrelevant, while important stuff gets shoved into a corner.

3. Where are you coming back from?
I mean, Japan is like the exact opposite of the U.S. in ways like it's the most group-ism society and ours is the most self-ism society. Coming from that perspective, Americans seem like a bunch of super-head-strong blather-mouths who have one message for the world "If I can't have my way, fuck it".
