1. The future
Although all the options look tempting, you've gotta go into the future to see if the U.S. still exists. 23rd century might be a little too distant for me however. Maybe thirty years into the future at first.

2. Would like to get 50 DUers on a Time Machine
And go back to November 22, 1963, Dallas, Texas in Dealey Plaza, around 11:30 AM.

Perhaps history could be changed.

6. Memphis, circa 1967

So I could attend a concert featuring Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, James Carr, Eddie Floyd, Booker T. & The MGs, and Rufus and Carla Thomas, among others.

14. Roaring Twenties
Electricity

No income tax

Blues, jazz developing

No traffic jams unless a bunch of horses hit an intersection at once

Women's suffrage has just been passed; basically liberal times....no McCarthyism, no Patriot Act

Plenty of elbow room, and the environment and forests haven't yet been completely plundered

No genetically modified food, no cloned food

No AIDS, no SARS. No HMOs. No co-pays and no deductibles. Doctors make house calls.

No stupid TV. No TV.

Probably no telemarketing.

12. What about November 2000?
If DUers could go back in time to election day could anything be changed somehow? I doubt it but it's interesting nevertheless.

13. the past is icky (no hygiene, plenty o'disease, no plumbing)
Ok, maybe ancient Rome or Greece. Might be cool to hang out with the Estrusans, too. Very progressive, with sexy clothes.

Edited on Wed Aug-20-03 01:11 AM by BurtWorm
if I didn't have to stay longer than it took to learn Latin and see for myself what the hell happened to the Roman Republic. Wouldn't want to be around for the Empire, though. Just around 50 BCE.

19. 1974
I could do very well in the stock market as well as "betting" on pro sports. Also I could cause the early arrest of Ted Bundy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Kacyzinski, Oliver North, Dylan Clebold, and Tim McVeigh. I could save John Lennon's life, and so on.
