Poll question: Which "Friend" will have the biggest post-Friends career
So now "Friends" has bit the dust--which of the actors will actually survive?

7. I saw Jennifer Aniston in "The Good Girl" and I don't know.
Edited on Mon May-10-04 12:05 PM by terrya
"The Good Girl" was an independent film released a couple of years ago. Ms. Aniston got rave reviews for her performance. I thought it was a one note sort of thing. I didn't see much range at all.

9. I've seen- that a very odd movie
She definitely hasn't signed on for the kind of movies you might expect from such a huge TV star. I thought it was pretty good myself.

13. "I don't want to talk about my flair."
Jennifer Aniston's most memorable line to date, from the movie "Office Space."

Best most people, even those who have seen it a dozen times, never knew she was in it.

She's a good actress. She can do both comedy and drama.

3. I think the top 3 may survive
Especially Aniston. Matthew Perry, never liked the characters he played in any show or movie.

5. Could Schwimmer be any LESS popular?
I've barely ever seen the show, but I hope I never see "Ross" again.

8. My jury's still out on him
I was really impressed with his performance as Capt. Soebbel, in the first episode of "Band Of Brothers." But I can't figure out if it's because he did a good job with the role... or if it was just because it was so "un-Ross."

6. I HOPE Perry has a big career...
I see great potential in him... despite some of the crappy comedies he's done. And he's the only one, besides Aniston, that I can see breaking away from his Friends character far enough to successfully pull of a drama.

:bounce:

11. He is/was the only funny one on the show IMHO
I have never understood how it was so popular (forcefed to the populace I guess) when their is only one person even cracking jokes on this "comedy".

As posted above there seems to be a lovefest with Lisa Kudrow which also baffles me.

Bruce Willis. I suppose that can't hurt his career.

10. Pity vote for Matt LeBlanc
While he's had the least successful movie career of the Friends actors, I've always thought he had the nicest (and least annoying) persona in real life.

12. "Joey" will sink like a stone.
You heard it here first. :-)

Very few spinoff shows from successful series have worked. Remember "Archie Bunker's Place" or what that "All in the Family" spinoff was named?

Only "Fraser" has worked, because of a brilliant cast and great writing.

I don't think this will happen with the "Joey" spinoff.

18. What did the clips look like?
I'm witholding judgement just because I would've thought Frasier was the worst character to spin off from "Cheers" and it was damn good for years. I've heard OF the clips but not about them. I know Drea Dematto is in it (Ade from Sopranos).

...ever since her "projectile vomiting" scene on The Sopranos.

No word yet if she plans any projectile vomiting on "Joey."

Joey moves west to Hollywood and lives with relatives including a sister who is a hair stylist--just doesn't seem to jump out at you, but who knows?

Maude, Good Times, The Jeffersons, etc.

Joey MIGHT work. But it won't.

16. Why isn't the monkey included?
Seems that he has the best chance, unless the others get desperate and "get nekkid"...when their careers hit rock-bottom, that's usually the time old Uncle Hef comes a knockin'...

Although, at $1 million per episode, their egos may take a hit in the years ahead but none of them will end up homeless.

17. Joey looks just as funny as Friends was
So that either says something about the fact that most of the Friends' writers write for Joey or that the rest of the Friends cast was expendable.

Jennifer Aniston? When has she been successful doing anything other than riding the coattails of a very popular lead actor in a movie?

When a movie can be sold with just her image on the posters, then we'll see how great she'll be. To me she's a bit player at best.

22. Is that meant as a good thing?
Seriously, saying that it will be as funny as "Friends" doesn't sound like a very good thing to say about it.

21. Jennifer Aniston will have the career
and possibly, Lisa Kudrow (who is a genius in real life), Matt Le Blanc and Matthew Perry.

David Schwimmer is going into producing and directing and Courtney Cox will probably stay at home with her new baby.

It's not like any of them will hurt for money though.

25. Perry and Kudrow
are the most talented and should get work beyond Friends. Jennifer Aniston will end up getting the most work because she's married to Brad (at least, she is for now).

LeBlanc and Cox are both finished. Schwimmer will hang around, if only to annoy the hell out of me.

The one I'd like to see more of is Aisha Tyler. She's a pretty cool chick.
