Question about sticking your fingers in your ears and humming loudly

in the White House it is. It worked for them for quite sometime.

2. IMHO, if a grown up is doing it, then it is a grown up

thing to do but I wouldn't make a habit of doing it in front of those unable to enjoy moments of lightness and frivolity.

Just have been making an effort to talk to someone with fingers in their ears who apparently only wants to hear theirself insult other people.

You could try tickling the person, then he/she would remove their fingers from their ears to keep you from tickling them.

Just a suggestion.

then that's always the wiser thing to do. In a perfect world, that would always be an option. In reality, sometimes it's not.
