Sex Offender Distributed Flyer Offering Overnight Baby Sitting - Arrested

HELENA, Mont. -- A registered sex offender was arrested for allegedly soliciting baby-sitting jobs through flyers and classified advertisements, police said.

Kenneth Lee Hall was arrested Wednesday and jailed for violating the terms of his sex-offender therapy, a condition of his probation. Hall, 41, was convicted in May 1999 of sexual assault.

A merchant became suspicious when he read a flyer Hall dropped off at his business, offering to provide overnight baby-sitting for children ages 2 to 4, said Detective Bryan Fischer. The flyer said Hall would like to be a "big brother" for a handicapped girl between the ages of 2 and 4, and offered a place to stay for a homeless girl up to the age of 8.

The business manager found Hall's photograph and criminal history on a sex offender Web site and called 911.
