What beer are you drinking?
I'm working late, so I picked up some Pilsner Urquell. :9

The ONLY perk of my job is that I can drink during it...

19. tha't fine
I'm trying to write a chemistry paper (really a short opinion piece) on the efficiency of spraying water on one's roof to cool your house.

so far I am simply guessing on the conductivity of the roof panels and the insulation (and frankly, guessing is fine, as long as I state the numbers) the question is, how many k/cals of energy does sunlight equal per meter at the earth's surface? I can't be bothered to figure out the 45th paralell version, or anything except a daily average, to be quite honest.

any ideas where I can find this information?

21. I remember going to a seminar where it was estimated the
average power per square foot at the earth's surface was slightly less than 100 watts per square foot. You'd also have to take into account the reflectance of the roofing materials, and how much infrared heat the water will consume...

34. of course
thanks for the info. I am taking into account a rate of 1180 kcals/meter/hour.

basically, I'm trying to use the heat of vaoprisation to see how much energy is removed from the system by the evaporation of the water. WE have very absorbative roofing tiles, 95% efficient! (course I just made that up)

and, just for fun's sake, I have taken into account the reflectance of water, and called it a 25% energy loss. (again a fictional number, but I can't seem to find a real one)

38. yeah, but it's better than me writing this paper
especially since it's a formality, I have a guaranteed "A" I just have to write thje fucking thing down so I don't get an incomplete. literally, they are dropping the lowest score, and since I currently have a 97.5 and a 98.5, and there are no plusses or minuses, this is a waste of my night.

But I was aggravated when I drank them!!

(This would be yet another bad reference, and one no one here could possibly know...I have a friend who was arrested in Texas for fishing w/o a license...when he was in jail, someone asked him 'What're you in for?'...he answered 'Fishing w/o a license...but I was aggravated when I did it!!'....:D....get it...as in aggravated increases the seriousness of the crime...? :D)

Fine. I'll just be over here now ----------->....
