So, what's really happening behind the closed doors in Milwaukee? The responses to the second annual Shepherd Express Sex/Romance survey were, well, quite revealing. We want to thank all of you who took the time to answer the survey. The responses especially to the open-ended questions showed that you took the survey very seriously, so again we thank you. We want to reiterate that this is not a random survey and doesn't claim to be, however that doesn't take away from the fact that the results are interesting, informative and real.

Unlike last year, more women than men answered the survey, but it was still relatively balanced, with 53% of the respondents female and 47% male. Again, the majority of the respondents were in their 20s and 30s, with an average age of 33; however, there were many respondents in their 40s, 50s and early 60s. More than 30% of the respondents were professionals, followed by technical workers and students.

Pornography
The politicians, the clergy and our mothers condemn it, but more than 75% of you report using some form of pornography. More men than women use pornography-- surprise, surprise--but almost 60% of the women responding say they use some form of pornography. The pornography of choice for both men and women is videos, followed by online pictures for the men and books for the women. I suppose the videos can provide a shared experience while the on-line pictures and the books are for the precious moments alone. This seems to support the observation that when it comes to erotica, men are into pictures and women are more into stories and text, which leaves a little more to the imagination.

The question is not, "Do you do it?," but how often? The vast majority of you do it, even those of you who are in good relationships. More than 25% of the respondents report that they masturbate every day and almost 75% claim to do it at least once a week. Being in a relationship seems to have very little effect on this pursuit since more than two-thirds of you in relationships still keep your hands busy. Also almost one-third of you, fairly evenly distributed between men and women, admit to having been caught masturbating and a phenomenal 46% of you confess to masturbating at work. And you wondered why corporate America went from offices to open spaces and cubicles.
