Any other guys here who don't follow any sports?
Baseball- boring as all hell. I live in chicago and was raised as a cub fan, but i haven't followed them in years, although i'd probably watch the world series(for the first time since puberty) if the cubs(or the white sox) were in it.

Football- like i said, i live in chicago, and the only team more hapless than the cubs(and the bulls, and the blackhawks) are "da bears"...they still talk about their one super bowl- 20 years ago.

Basketball- did i mention that i live in chicago? sure, I was watching the Bulls when we had Michael, and Dennis, and nothing better was on the other channel...

Hockey- chicago, remember? I even used to work at an ice rink, sold equipment, sharpened skates, drove the zamboni...but the game has never really interested me.

golf- you're kidding, right? i hope somebody would shoot me, if i'm ever sitting at home watching f-ing golf on TV, just to put me out of my misery. I've played a few times, and it was ok, but i'd rather just go for the walk, without the ball and the sticks and the scoring...

tennis-why watch, when i can play pong on the very same tv?

any other sports i haven't mentioned- there's a reason they haven't been mentioned- i don't care enough to know what other sports are televised or otherwise available for spectation.

don't get me wrong- i'm not fat or out of shape(too much), I'm 43, and I do have an arthritic back that makes a lot of activities difficult, although I do swim, ride my bike and do yoga(but none of them competetively), and the back thing has only been a big factor for the last 6 years or so...i did play little league when i was a kid- for a few seasons. but i never really got into it all that much.
in high school, i was one of the tallest kids in my class, so i played basketball, but only frosh-soph and jv, never varsity.

as it is now, i could do entirely without sports. I get the daily paper, but never even look at the sports section...we have Dish Network- the everything package, and i've never turned on any of the espn or other sports channels.

anybody else have absolutely no use for competetive sports? guys in particular...or am i some kind of deviant?(in yet another way).

1. Me
Can't even stand to watch on TV sports that I actually play or have played myself. Used to watch some football, many years ago, but for the msot part televised sports have no appeal. Used to nbow and then watch various other things that appealed to me, but haven't even watched the Olympics in years.

Always struck me as ironic that so many American men can recite sporting stats all day but that even a great many of those who possess general knowledge beyond those stats are sedentary armchair athletes who've chosen to remove themselves from the physical activities they otherwise obsess over. I'd rather do the activity, though it's been a long time since I did any team sports...I admit that I'm not naturally at all a team player.

I use photobucket.com

Very handy, gives you thumbmails and even the url codes in 3 different formats, also can make albums to seperate photos eg. humor political, whatever

It's Free too!

2. Sports?
What are sports?

Never watched them. No idea what they're about or why anyone else should care.

3. Does only watching football count? lol.
And Beaker, you don't have to cheer for the home team, especially in the NFL. One of the most diverse fan bases as far as geographic location in american sports.

and that includes super, and/or any other kinds of bowls.

it just doesn't interest me.

6. Hardly,
world series, football bowl games, etc if its on. I hardly watch any TV now. No cable so the temptation is not really there.

Like soap operas sports are addictive as is all TV. The Olympics have been trashed.

My theory is that, with a few exceptions,TV ruins everything it touches.
There was a time when people had other lives and they were athletes, now we have people who have nothing but sport. Its their whole life, drugs and all.

A few fragments of thinking this AM.

8. Count me in.
I could care less.

The only sports I care about are snowboarding (only while I myself am doing it) and mountain biking (likewise, but not for the past couple of years because I don't have a bike right now).

10. Couldn't give a rip about sports
Have much better things to think about.

Though I do enjoy watching football and hockey, but morein the sense of I just like watching it, not because I think one team is more "morally correct" (that is, God chosen) than another, or that a team winning means that the city or state they represent is better than the other. That's the part of sports I don't get at all - the territorialistic nature of it. Geez.

Other than basketball, which when played well is boring as hell, I only care about sports in the sense that I like to see people playing (or doing anything) very well. There is real artistry at that point (even in basketball - it's just boring artistry, in that case: give me high school girls basketball, sloppy and poorly done, and thus actaully a lot more interesting).

12. i wouldn't waste a dime on it
either paying for attending or channels, or gear, whatever. Totally overhyped, overpaid, and (just one example) overdone as in the Superbowl craaaap we had to deal with recently.

ON the other hand, i used to enjoy watching cliff diving (Acapulco ?) years ago, a little track and field events, etc.
One person competing against themself or Nature can be interesting. Against another person? what's the point...

13. I suspect you're gay........just kidding....i hate it all
but i'm always afraid to admit it in public. when the guys start talking sports, i panic. 'will they think i'm gay?' will they shun me at the water cooler? so sometimes i'll say, 'yeah, they kicked butt last night' and then sneak out of the room.

14. boring, waste of time
life's too short! Was a fan of my home town team(Baltimore Colts) until they were stolen. Glad I got that out of my system. Today I believe it's a form of mind control, as is tv in general.
