What's your favorite commercial? I love the Martin Scorscese one where
he checks out some pictures he made of his nephew's birthday party. Adorable.

1. That dog eating the peanut butter......
Or the one where the owner of an SUV leaves his dog in the backseat to run an errand and the dog gets up and laps down half the owner's drink before the owner comes back....the owner takes a swig of his drink while the dog looks all innocent like he never left his seat. Hilarious!

2. "somebody's a big charlie sheen fan..."
The visa checkcard commercial with charlie and martin sheen was great...

Most of the jack in the box commericals are pretty good too.

3. I was just commenting on that one last night
It's very deft. I wonder how the director of the commercial felt, directing Scorsese?

4. At this time?
The 6 Flags dancing old guy.

In the past, "Where's The beef" and the Miller Light "Tastes Great! Less filling!" ads with the sports stars.

5. Got 2
I love the Nike football one (Portugal vs Brazil) (although I love most football adverts).

But my all time favourite advert is for John West's Salmon. It may have been a UK only advert, but it involves a fisherman and a bear. The slogan is "we go further so you don't have to"/"we only get the best salmon" - whatever.

The fisherman is wrestling with the bear for a salmon. "Look, an eagle" - bear looks and the fisherman kicks him in the nads, runs off with the salmon. There are others.

If anyone can find it on the web, there will be a significant reward.

6. There are two I love . . .
One is the cat-herding ad from the Superbowl a few years back. Unfortunately it only ran a few times afterwards: http://www.fallon.com/site_layout/work/clientview.aspx?clientid=12&projectid=85&workid=25782

The next would be the Pepsi commercial where the guy leaves his sandwich and Pepsi sitting on the counter while he answers the door. You see the dog climb up on the counter and steal the sandwich, then he comes back for the Pepsi. He then puts the Pepsi bottle back on the counter. The scene closes with him dropping the cat on top of the sandwich plate. I LOVE THIS ONE :).

7. John Smith's
The 'No Nonsense' John Smith's adverts starring Peter Kay are so funny, especially the one where he's at the dinner party on the phone to his little daughter:

"It's Britney...she's having nightmares...something about a monster in her cupboard...(speaks back into phone) Don't worry there's no such things as monsters, its the burglars trying to get into your window you wanna be worried about, sweet dreams...(shouts to waiter) two more Lambrinis over here!"

Classic.

8. On the topic
Doesn't compare to Jack Dee's

"So I told them straight, no gimmicks. No dancing ladybirds and definitely no penguins. Just me, in a pub, with a pint of John Smiths Extra Smooth. (sip) Pure silk in a glass. So, if this is a bit boring, you can blame me"

"Cut it, that was nice Jackie"

"So, you're going to put the pub background in afterwards then?"

9. Geico's congressional hearing
where the chairman claims they have found all these crimes committed but he has some good news, he saved money by switching to Geico. Then the two guys sitting next to the chairman are all so happy for him. I just like that one.

10. Another one I almost forgot . . .
The John West Salmon commercial (the fisherman fighting the bear). This has got to be one of the funniest commercials ever.
