Anyone else grow up in a home that doesn't celebrate Mother's Day?
We never did, my mom and dad said it was just a made up holiday designed to make us spend our money.

I still think they said that so we wouldn' t only have to be nice ONE day of the year.

2. I'm a mother and I don't care about Mother's Day
It's a big deal to my Mom but, I couldn't care less about holidays. All of them. My husband and I never remember our Anniversary unitl my father-in-law calls to congratulate us.

It's what goes on in your everyday life that matters - not some b.s. pretension once a year. Hooooo boy, am I cranky tonight or what

4. I wish.
Mother's Day was just another excuse for our dad to harass us about how spoiled and selfish we were.

Nothing destroys an honest emotion like love as fast as being forced to express it on an arbitrary day.

5. Same here...
both of my parents were down on Mother's Day and Father's Day. They thought it was stupid to set aside one day, like that is the only day that mattered, also said it was just made up by big business to sell crap. :-)
