Speaking of seatbelts...(Please Read)
Do yourselves a favor and wear them properly.

A friend of mine was in a terrible accident several months ago. Unfortunately, she, like many others I know, was annoyed by the shoulder harness, and tucked it under her arm instead of the recommended fit. As a result, her very pretty face slammed right into the steering wheel. She broke her cheekbone, her nose, and required surgery on one eye. The improper seatbelt position also caused one of her ribs to break and she suffered serious internal damage.

The good news is my friend has fully recovered, and it's impossible to tell that anything happened now.

Sorry if I sound preachy, I'd just hate to think of anyone else suffering as my friend did. :hi:

1. I will never wear my seatbelt under my arm again.
I only did it because it won't stay over my breast and creeps up my neck. But after that story, I will remember. Thankyou. GofG:hi:

2. I have the same problem....
Seatbelts were not invented with short people or boobs in mind.

My husband's Saturn has an adjustment gizmo that makes a tremendous difference when I lower the height of the belt. We should encourage all manufacturers to use something similar for the safety and comfort of all consumers.

3. You Can Get Pads
that fit on the shoulder part that protect your neck from being rubbed raw. They really work.

4. They do make for a more comfortable ride
Still, the thought of being thrown into the seatbelt at the neck makes me worry about injury to the larynx. It's better than a ruptured spleen; but the safety belt manufacturers should be marketing adjustable models.

5. My Subaru has a height adjustment for the shoulder belts
All cars should have them. It's wonderful; I can drive without a belt rubbing my neck raw, and yet my (over a foot taller) husband can use the same seatbelt and still have the proper protection.

7. I can usually make the driver's side belt comfortable
but for some reason, whenever I sit in a passenger seat, the seat belt locks up on me and presses me into the seat, getting shorter and shorter all the time. I have to keep undoing it, redoing it, undoing it, redoing it. It makes a ratcheting sound and pins me to the seat. Not pleasant.
