Better Standup Comedian - George Carlin or Richard PrYor

I say Carlin in a close one, just because I've always thought PrYor was great, but a tad (just a tad) overrated.

but to answer your question, I pick Carlin.

Edit: I guess I should clarify the list as Comedy Central's 100 best stand-ups. My husband and I spent the entire day Sunday watching that.

Jon Stewart is WAY funnier than Miller.

8. They didn't have many good things to say about him

like they did the others they were presenting. That is the only satisfaction that I got out of the segment.

If I had my choice, Jon Stewart would have been NUMBER ONE!!!!!!!

5. At their peaks, Pryor. More real. Carlin was great, but

more contrived. I always felt like Carlin was trying to be funny, and succeeding, and managed to be relevant at the same time. Pryor was trying to be relevant, and made it funny.

Now, Carlin wins, and he's more relevant. But not at their peaks.

Someone might be as good, but I don't think anyone has surpassed his example. Carlin is pretty damn good, however--I just don't know if he's as good as Pryor.
