1. My college roommate and her husband live in San Diego.

He has never been to the south but "knows all about it." Too much TV. He would rail at me about how prejudiced we were about black people and how we were so racist but didn't seem to see any correlation in how he felt about the Mexicans who were cluttering up his city in his view.

I've lived here since 1967. And there have always been blatant racists and bigots of all stripes.

And there are layers to race relations; people who don't care about physical differences often don't tolerate cultural differences.

but they're not even a strong minority anymore. I worked in a 50/50 mixed office staff for nearly 25 years and you'd be surprised how little racism (overt or covert) existed.

Its not 1965 anymore, even in Mississippi.

It seems to be the only state that gets whipped worse than us. I have to watch my knee jerk reaction at times because when you get so used to being dissed you automatically react sometimes when it isn't there. So - know how ya feel there, rowdy.

7. Yes there are but fortunately this year so far they have failed

at getting a ballot initiative signed for the ballot...there was a bill that would have denied all services to undocumented immigrants and they fell short of the sigs they needed.....HAHAHA..YAY!
