Here's fun: Who can identify this movie
based solely on the description on the back of my Chinese DVD (It's a English language film that came out in the past 10 years.)

"The family problem that relate the Beth is a lot of, and not only look after five childrens, and more want to face to all day long loiter the connubiality of the alcohol and women's stupid husband, 10 8 years, at that time honeyed words, at that time hello is with the fist, beat to beat two sons of make a living, connecting to also can not stand, decide to leave the house to flee. Should be a The wish beats, a wish, live together peacefully, but because the husband's fox companion dog the friend infringe upon their daughter, and harm he suicide by hanging to die. The husband misses the friend Look for vulgar practice that enemy and kill off he, but regardless of to oneself family is four not repent, and the Beth decide to break the relation with him. This is the house of a song type ethics slice culture tendency for depiction for, passing a family coming reflecting a society."

Something about a woman named Beth with 5 children and an alcholic husband. That's about all I got.

4. "Once Were Warriors"
a New Zealand film about a Maori family torn by domestic violence.

Harrowing but excellent film.

By the way, that summary looks as if it was machine translated. Let that be a warning to anyone who thinks that using Babelfish can substitute for learning a foreign language or hiring a translator.

6. I loved that film!
I didn't remember that the woman was Beth or that she had 5 kids - I only remember 3 kids.

7. There were two grade school age children
who mostly huddled in the corner and whimpered. The plot focused on the three older children, but there were five in all.

9. Wow, you're good. You got it.
I especially love the "infringe upon their daughter bit" (of the translation, not the film.)

Let's see if I can find a tougher one...

12. Engrish is usually more coherent than that
movie summary, which has to be machine translation.

You can usually make some sort of sense out of a narrative written in Engrish: "In the day we worked all day in cotton fields and in the evening sang a song of blues. Happy birthday America." I saw that in Japan in 1977, probably left over from the Bicentennial.

16. Hmm, my connection keeps going dead tonight.
DSL my ass.

I didn't buy a lot of the funniest ones. I'll pick up some more tomorrow.

On most of the DVDs they seem to just cut and paste from other DVDs (so the credits don't match the film.)

Here's the description from the back of the second season of Queer as Folk:

"An uproarious comedy about a group of people who come together from the Mayflower Dog Show. From various location around United States, each with a wildly different personalities and dogs to perfectly match him. The pressure is on as the competition begins, and hundred of people gather around anxious to watch."

24. That's the description of Best In Show
not Queer as Folk. There are some queer folk in best in show, but that's definitely the wrong cover on that DVD.
