It's Official--I am no longer a New York Giants fan!
The fact that those nitwits gave away too much to get that little dweeb Eli Manning is bad enough, but they've shown themselves to be classless buffoons, by treating Kerry Collins so badly. They went 4-12 last season NOT because of quarterback problems, but because of problems everywhere else, like coddling worthless homphobes like Jeremy Shockey who only disrupt the team's focus.

I have been a Giants fan all my life, but now I will be cheering every time Eli Manning gets sacked, and until he is out of a Giants uniform, I will be cheering their every loss!

1. Like brother, Like brother.
Welcome to what us Tennessee fans had to put up with when Peyton aka god-of-all-things-football (instert sarcasm) was here.

2. Looking back, are you glad that Tenn blew it Peyton's senior year?
They were heavily favored to win the national championship that year, but ended up with a couple losses, I think. Kept Peyton from getting the Heisman, which, now makes me happy.

Actually, Peyton blew it that year, not necessarily the entire team.

3. Not glad that we didn't end up with a championship.
But not heartbroken that Peyton didn't receive the Heisman. When you talk about TN football, it's like sacreligious to mention the whole Manning family in a negative way (or at least that's how it is around here).

I'm not glad the team blew it, but then again, I think a team is led by the quarterback. He's very inconsistent and takes too much time in the pocket. Basically, he had his moments where he was great then he would suck for awhile. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot more than I do this damn Clausen kid. But I just simply don't get the "Manning" popularity. ??

5. I never had anything against Peyton, and sort of liked him until this
incident. Sort of shows the whole Manning clan to be the arrogant pr**ks that they are. Don't see how he can be the highest paid player when he still hasn't proven himself--should we remind the Colts owner how he sucked in the AFC championship game this past January??

7. It's all about the name..
Sadly enough. I don't even think Eli would've been this popular had it not been for the name. Guess that's how life goes.

4. No Manning will ever win a Super Bowl
Sorry, but I can't remember the last team that won a championship with a dead fish of a personality at quarterback. That doesn't even take into consideration that Mannings fold like cheap lawn chairs at the earliest sign of pressure. (Note to Indy fans: neither KC nor Denver were good teams last year. They both played the same weak-ass schedule by being in the AFC West.)

Sorry Giants fans - you missed out on the two best quarterbacks in the draft when you traded Rivers and dissed Roethlisberger (I think Roethlisberger was the best of the group).

6. It really is a shame
that a classy kid from a classy family gets stuck with a team like the giants whose fans are totally classless and clueless. But maybe the giants, and their fans will become better with Eli in the lineup. Probably not. They'll still be the embarrassment of the NFC East. And try as they might, giant fans will continue to lead the bush leagues in fandom and boredom. Isn't there something to do in ny besides boo a college kids mom?

12. Classy???
Classy would have been going to the team that drafts you instead of throwing a temper tantrum. The Manning family showed how little class they have in this situation.

9. Manning acted like a spoiled child
He was practically pouting when San Diego drafted him. And sending in Daddy to tell the Chargers he didn't want to go play for them...blech.

My husband always used to complain about the arrogance of the Manning family, and I used to pooh-pooh him because I thought Peyton was a class act. But this incident doesn't make his father or brother look too good.

I'm from a family of Giants fans, and I can tell you that adding this little baby -- when they have another major head case in Shockey -- isn't too impressive.

10. I've been a big Kerry Collins fan since he was in college
NYG's treated him like shit- he deserves to play somewhere where he'll be respected. I think he's a damn good QB and he'll put up better #'s than Eli.

11. you're not a Giants fan
I don't know any true Giants fan who would quit the team because of a draft-day trade.

Giants fans leave season tickets in their wills. You sir, are no Giants fan.

That said,

15. How dare you impugne my integrity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have ALWAYS been a Giants fan--but this pushed me over the edge. I even stuck with them when what's-his-face---the owner--Wellington Mara, made a pro-life video essentially saying the Giants are a pro-life team.

14. I'm still pissed at the way they treated Phil Simms
Guy makes the pro bowl, has one of his best years, and they cut him because of some damn salary cap bullshit and because they wanted to bring it that joke Dave Brown.
