1. We've got these gas stations in Minnesota call Kwik Trips
and they make their own donuts that are an obvious rip-off of KK. Good enough for me, were I so inclined. I'm more of a bearclaw man, myself.

only true eclairs! We have a great bakery in my little town that makes a dandy eclair. Hmmm, I might be getting up early tomorrow for a pastry run before work!

4. Other
I've never had a Krispy Kreme Donut and probably never will since I doubt any donut chain will ever open a facility in my little town.

6. All nasty except this one flavor
I must confess I love their basic glazed donuts. I love dunking them in coffee. MmmmmM!

Other than that, Dunkin Donuts kicks their ass hardcore.

8. Krispy Kreme has long been a supporter...
....of the Republican party. They don't give shit to the Democrats.
In the NFS (National Food Service) Magazine Taste Tests, Their Donuts
came out near the bottom in the tests. Common complaints:
" Greasy, very sugary, stale"

10. I voted "other"
because they are ALL nasty, without a single saving flavor. all the varieties are coated in that thick glaze - yuck.

and I have to second the "fake eclair" comments; give me the real thing any day!

12. Now that I think of it, those Ks really are creepy.
I hate them because biting into one is like driving nails into my fillings.

Sugar flavored, sugar coated grease. Yech.

13. Krispy Kreme Ruined for me
I used to love some Krispy Kreme back in my stoner days but I must say since I have seen where they throw their money in the political arena the magic is gone. They still kick Dunkin's ass on taste alone though, I once got a late night private tour of the donut factory here in NOVA/DC. Gotta love the wall of glaze.

15. Hate' em.
Too sweet, too gooey.

I prefer the regular lightly-sugared donuts from the bakery, and even those, I seldom eat. Glazed can be okay, but KK are SLATHERED with oozy sweet crud. The popularity of those donuts is a mystery to me. I also hate the filled donuts with a passion.

Only people who've never tasted really good donuts think they are good.

Sad really.

20. The folks that don't like them are eating them wrong.
NEVER buy Krispy Kreme donuts at a supermarket or gas station. Get them from the Krispy Kreme store, preferably when the "Hot Donuts" light is on. Ideally, you should leave frosting fingerprints in the icing when you touch them because the icing hasn't fully cooled down. Their regular shelf life is approximately 4 hours, unless they're recooked. After that, write them off.

Now recooked Krispy Kreme donuts can be excellent. I know a place that grills them, then serves them piping hot with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate syrup on them. Simply divine.

Too messy; they can't just glaze the top, so you have someplace to grab hold that isn't covered in glaze?

I don't understand the attraction.
