Poll question: Political Purity?

Is it necessary that our allies in the battle for justice be politically pure? Must our leaders always have subscribed to the dictates of our political dogma?

1. It is pretty much impossible.
What is life but a series of compromises?

2. Ideally, yes...
I vote for the candidate that best represents my views. I would prefer someone who was closer to my views, but I will compromise if no one is very close.
Criticisms, however, are a neccesity.

3. Absolutely not...
If I can convince the Cretin Coalition to take a progressive stance and it helps people, all the better for everyone. Coalition politics are based on concident intrests as opposed to ideological purity. Party politics require some degree of ideological purity.

4. big tent
If liberals insisted on political purity, they would have rejected all the help that Sen. Robert Byrd has given.

Big Tents Rock!

5. Excellent point.
And a fine example of one man's ideological evolution.
