I just turned the A.C. on for the first time this season.
It was a nice, warm day in central Connecticut, but the humidity is a bit much! So as soon as I got home this evening, I switched on the air conditioning. Now it's nice and comfortable in my humble abode.

How some people can survive without A/C is beyond me! I swear, the humidity just drains me of all my energy.

1. Posting from Florida...
...sometimes the humidity is so bad here, I leave wet spots where I post. Welcome to summer.

4. I second that and
people up north have no idea what humidity is. Take a trip down here during July-September and experience humidity.
My a/c is running most of the year, heating in the winter when the temp drops into the 50's. Else my a/c is set to 77, anything colder and I need a sweater :)

Trust me, I know what the humidity in Florida is like! "Brutal" is putting it mildly.

6. You'll be pleased to know the Naval Training Center...
...is GONE,,,turned it into an upscale housing development...Rosie O'grady's is also gone...out of business (but Lew Pearlman, of boy band fame) says he can revive it...I remember all of you squids walking along Colonial looking for action...

9. No shit???
Wow! I guess now the Navy must only have Boot Camp in San Diego and at the Great Lakes.

That must've happened comparatively recently, though. Last time I was in Florida, in 1997, I still saw signs on the freeway marked "Naval Training Center."

10. I think the signs must still be there...but the NTC is gone for good.
...actually, not for good...it pumped alot of $$$ into the local economy.

11. Not sure, but I think
you'll find the signs today too.
There was a lot of brouhaha about the sale of the Naval traning Center. Somebody raked in money on that deal.

2. In Milwaukee we recently had our first overnight temp above 65
but the high today was in the 50's

The good thing about living here is that "God" provides the AC free in every month but August.

Unfortunately, she doesn't provide gas...which does the big heating jobs better for less (or so says the commercial). And our heating bills can run from Sept thru early June (depending upon how many dogs you own).

3. My place...the ground floor of a 2-story house...
stays pleasantly cool most of the summer. I think I had the AC on maybe 3 days last year.
