What do "nt" and "eom" mean in posts?

What do "nt" and "eom" mean in posts?
Forgive my ignorance, but I see them often here and have no idea what they refer to...

But the point of them is to not read the message so they should be in the header not the text area.

and you are correct about usage in the subject line, otherwise it is pointless

7. Yes...
But I think people put it in the "message" textbox because the boards here require something to go in the "Subject" and the "Message" so they have to put *something* in both. I suppose you could add the "eom" to the end of the subject and just put "nt" in the Message body.

I think I have to have a sig line to leave it blank, because it won't let me as is (without a sig).
