Am I the only one who doesn’t watch cable news?
Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't watch mainstream news. I NEVER watch the “electronic Berlin Wall” for it triggers images of Clockwork Orange. Duers who have stomachs of steel, I assume watch to see what the “Bewildered Herd” is being shoveled.

I used to actually enjoy watching Inside Politics (while at the same time being irritated)..but I can't take watching that show for the next 6 months..

Everything else is trash. I sometimes catch BBC.

4. The Daily Show is awesome...
you can actually glean a good sense of what is going on in the world by watching the show and it's fun too.

Daily Show + DU + written news sources are all I need. :)

6. I quit watching the news on 10/31/02 when they were going
non-stop on the sniper fiasco on the east coast. I refuse to allow myself to hear their lies. I do watch The Daily Show. Every now and then when I'm channel surfing I'll accidently catch something on the new and it invariably upsets me - bye bye to the media whores from me.

7. I try not to
Sometimes I am forced to when my computer gets really slow and I can't get news off of Google or DU. And, when I want a good laugh, I watch Faux. But never local stations.

8. not only cable news, but ANY tv news . . .
which is nothing but infotainment and propaganda for the corporatocracy that passes for government these days . . . this is not to say I don't watch folks like Stewart and Maher . . . I don't consider their shows "news" . . . more like topical entertainment . . .

9. movie channels on TV mainly
The only time I turn on cable news is when I notice on the net a big story has broken that I really need to see the video of.

12. Lou Dobbs on CNN ...
He's a conservative, without a doubt, but a populist conservative, so I actually enjoy his show. He's been hammering American corporations on outsourcing, tax avoidance, corporate scandals, etc. I also actually enjoy his on-going series on education--he doesn't slam teachers as being the root of all that's wrong with education, nor does he push the right's voucher agenda.
