21. Unfortunately, as a liberal Christian,
I have to agree with you on that one. Religion and government MUST be separate, end of discussion. I wonder how the fundies would like it if atheists acted like they did and forced their own version of law and morality on the rest of society.

I have no more right to demand that everyone adhere to my beliefs and that such beliefs be codified into the laws governing EVERYONE in society, not just Christians or any other religion, than atheists/agnostics/new agers, etc., have to do the same. I will share my faith with people who ask and genuinely want to know, but I don't force it on people or make them listen when they don't want to do so.

These fundie nutballs have twisted my religion into something damn near unrecognizable, and have turned countless numbers of people off; they've done more damage in just a couple of short decades than anything and anyone else. They have been responsible for more human suffering than almost anything else. I really have to wonder if they've even read the Bible at all, particularly the New Testament, because I don't think Christ would recognize them at all as followers of his, and I don't think they'd know him if he stood before them in nine hundred feet of thunder, lightning and glory.

On the other hand, I sometimes get the condescending, dismissive treatment from atheists and agnostics who put me down for having religious beliefs and for believing in something they don't. Live and let live, I say. People have the right to believe what they want, they don't have the right to judge others for not sharing their beliefs, or lack of beliefs.

Yeah, I do tend to be a bit wordy at times. Guess that happens when you grow up the daughter of two English teachers and when you're a paralegal surrounded by lawyers all the time!

34. You can imagine
how I feel about the dismissive treatment you recieve from those that share some of my beliefs. I look at this as a journey we are all on. We are born screaming and blind into this world and only by helping each other can we make any progress in it. So we are not all on the same page as far as what we make of this world. There are other things we can agree on.

45. deeply offended that you equate
religion and christianity with homosexuality

there is no proof that religion and christianity are

any more prone to flaming away than any other.

Frankly, if you'll allow frankness, it is becoming quite clear that

sexual orientation as well as ability to believe in the supernatural

are functions of brain develpoement during specific times of

development during gestation.

P.S. sorry if the inclusion of some factual information in this
farcical post caused anyone to take it seriously.
