I'm George Bush and I approved this message.
I just saw one of Dubyass' ads on TV. All he does is attack Kerry for raising taxes. He does nothing else. This is going to suck, being in Ohio. Both sides are going to be at each other's throats for this battleground states. I hope Kerry doesn't resort to mudslinging, but he may have to.

Raising taxes, although okay with Democrats, is about as popular among the moderates of Ohio as Dubyass' handling of the Iraq.

1. Have you noticed ...
That all of *'s attack ads begin with the disclaimer? Then there is a fade-out as though the ad has ended, then it fades back in with the attack part of the ad. If you weren't paying attention, it would be easy to think you were watching two different ads--and only caught the last 5 seconds of the first.

2. That's actually quite the consideration--where to put the disclaimer
Happy ads often get the disclaimer at the end, or even in the middle. It's prominent, and will even feature the actual person talking. (Remember DK's "Do I approve this message? You bet!" from the primary?)

Attack ads, it'll be quick and have the fade-out, and it'll be a voice-over over a picture.

3. Remind folks
that those tax hikes by Kerry stretch out over an 18 year period, and many have to be taken in context. Tell them to listen to what Kerry wants to do now, not what he did in the 80s.

4. I don't think Kerry will have to resort to mudslinging
I think just telling the truth and presenting a positive alternative will be enough to propel Kerry to victory. The Bush administration is emersed in lies.

5. I'll bet losing jobs is probably pretty unpopular with the Buckeyes
It looks like Ohio is really going to be in play in 2004. Nobody would have guessed it 3 years ago. Most pols believe that if a Democratic Presidential candidate wins Ohio, then they win the entire election. Thanks to Bush having given away the people of Ohio's surplus to his rich friends, and inflating the debt that will be passed on to Ohio's grandchildren, Bush has given us a shot at winning Ohio.

7. Correction.
The ad disclaimer should state: "I'm Karl Rove and I approved this message."

But, as we all know, the Republicans can't tell the truth about anything!

:bounce:

8. No, it's actually, "I'm George Bush and I approve this meshashh."
He sounds absolutely lampshade-on-the-head shitfaced in just this 2-second TAG! How drunk was he when they did that disclaimer? Couldn't they have sobered him up for ONE TAKE?!
