Bush Twins Treat Secret Service with Comtempt
toward bottom:

<http://www.nypost.com/gossip/pagesix_u.htm>

JENNA and Barbara Bush quarreled with Secret Service agents assigned to protect them mostly because the agents made it hard for them to go into bars and drink with friends when they were underage, the Washington Post reports. After they complained to their mother, "Laura didn't want her girls to feel constrained, and the agents were ordered to pull back from traditional methods of coverage."

1. Uh oh. Another Twins thread.
Geez, one I posted on got locked after I expressed admiration for Harmon Killebrew. These Bush twins are well protected here (not bad, considering they are over 21, unlike Chelsea and Amy).

6. uh? Who here was so classless as to drag Chelsea...
...Clinton or Amy Carter through the mud because of who their parents are? You weren't suggesting that we act like repigs too, I presume?

13. Our money is going to protect these girls
And the Whitehouse wants our Law enforcement people to look the other way as laws are broken?!?!?

They are adults now, right? They are free to be exposed. To further shelter these two plays into the idea that the Elite should be able to get away with anything. That's the real Pug way of thinking: the Elite are above the rest of us.

Don't allow yourself to be caught even thinking that way.

15. They are adults
That's my point, unlike Chelsea or Amy. Watch the "classless" charge, my friend.

22. Agree with you - check the thread; responding to Mike_C
What we have here is a failure to communicate. I was responding to the previous poster, as you were. Check the thread again. My response was to that, not you. Too much caffeine? That's my excuse.

2. Can you blame them?
If I was wild and wooly like they are I wouldn't want the SS babysitting me either. They were just teen-agers. It isn't their fault that their daddy is who and what he is. It is their folks that need the come-uppence not the girls. Can you imagine how they were raised?

23. Tell that to a family that has lost a 21-year-old in Iraq
Yeah, they are young, rich, attractive and able to do whatever they want. Oh, and some poor family has had their son or daughter's brains blown out for the greater glory of Bush, Perle, Cheney, Wolfowitz. Yep, looking forward to hearing about the Twins' shopping trips! Don't you see the hypocrisy? Geez, even LBJ had a son-in-law who served. Who serves now from the Bush family, even with GWB being a warmonger?

16. The twins did not choose their parents, they are NOT politically
active, therefore they should be left alone. ANY ATTEMPTS TO USE THE PRESIDENT'S KIDS AGAINST HIM ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS BACKFIRES. It backfired on the Reps when some tried to say things about Chelsea. Drop it - your are hurting us, not them.

17. Amen!
We didn't like it when the Repugs (mainly Rush Lardbutt) denigrated Chelsea. It was unfair. We should not be hypocritical and turn around and go after the Bush daughters just because we detest their father.

That makes us no better than our enemy. I, for one, want to be better then our enemy.

And don't give me any of that crap about "turn about is fair play." It's not, it's rank hypocrisy.

20. I agree with that...
No money in the world can make up for having Bunnypants and Laura for parents. Imagine having an man that can barely read, drinks heavily and snorts coke. Imagine watching him become President. Imagine having Laura Bush as a mother and even worse Barbara and Poppy for grandparents.
That would drive most kids to drink and drugs, look at their cousins.

24. J&B
as someone else posted, Chelsea Clinton was a minor during her father's presidency and the Bush twins are not. In Chelsea's case, I felt it was very justitifed to protect her privacy and allow her to grow up as normal as possible given her atypical surroundings.

Now, just because the twins are older does not mean they deserve to be put through the media wringer. However, they are adults and should be held responsible for their actions and attitudes. Certainly it would suck to try and be a normal college student when you're constantly being watched and guarded. I'm sure everyone has college stories they'd rather forget; imagine if your stupid indiscretions were observed and remembered by all.

So, keep the Bush twins out of the media, I don't care. I don't find them very interesting anyway. And I'm still confused by their daddy's comment that he'd rather go to war than raise twins. that's some inspirational parenting, I tell you what....
