Stealth Implementation of Patriot II ??
I picked up this link through Plastic.com, and I'm surprised I haven't read anything about it here. (maybe I missed it...)

Anyways...

Lost amid the tumult surrounding Saddam Hussein’s December 14 capture was enactment of a measure radically extending federal counter-terrorism powers. Most of the details of H.R. 2417, the Intelligence Authorization Act for fiscal year 2004 "are secret, including the total cost of the programs, which are estimated to be about $40 billion," noted an AP story. That amount is "slightly more than Bush had requested." The measure’s publicized portions include new FBI powers "to demand financial records from casinos, car dealerships, and other businesses," as well as several pilot programs permitting data exchanges between agencies.

Sounds like the FBI got it's right to search without a warrant while we were watching Saddam getting his teeth cleaned...

Total Information Awareness is alive and well. As is the Office of Strategic Disinformation.

The Busheviks just don't take no for an answer. This has been their pattern of history from the moment they began their designs on seizing the Old Republic. I see no reason they should abandon it now, particularly over crucial issues of Power and Totalitarian Control.

5. What does Dean say about this?
He needs to say something fast and I hope to god he is not releasing his records as a ploy to embarass Bush into opening the energy meetings and god knows what else.

If not I will be pissed. I am tired of shady mofos.
