My neighbors are separated
and will soon get a divorce. She moved out of the house. There are four children involved (two his, two hers). Do I look to them to maintain the sanctity of marriage or would you refer me to Brittney Spears?

1. I Am Furious At Your Neighbors
Because they have just completely screwed up the sanctity of MY marriage. sniff!

I support a constitutional amendment that marriage should be for 2 people, neither of whom are Brit Spears.

Seriously though -- if anybody is going to mess with the sanctity of my marriage, it would be one of the 22 year old female interns at his job -- I'm not really worried about the gay people! They are the ones who pose NO threat to hetero marriages, duh....

3. Sorry to Burst Your Heteorsexual Bubble, but.....
"I'm not really worried about the gay people! They are the ones who pose NO threat to hetero marriages, duh..."

I want to be REALLY careful about what I am about to say here. REALLY, REALLY careful.

But, believe it or not, there are some men in "straight" relationships (some even in hetero marriages) who, if given the chance to do so, will describe themselves as "bi/curious" or "bisexual".

And, among those guys, there is a group of men who, if given the opportunity, will have sex with another man.

Most married men, I would think, are totally faithful to their wives.

Some men cheat on their wives.

Some men who cheat on their wives do so with women.

Some men who cheat on their wives do so with men.

Take my word for it.

By the way, as a gay guy, I do not think very highly of other gay men who seek out or allow themselves to be sought out by married men.

But that's just me.

5. I think Arianna Huffington would agree with you
 Different Strokes. My guess is that most marriages are more threatened by hetrosexual affairs than not.

8. Well Let's Just Go By Statistics
Do you think more straight marriages are broken up by straights or gays??

17. I Agree with you.
"My guess is that most marriages are more threatened by hetrosexual affairs than not."

I agree with you here -- most straight marriages are threatened by heterosexual affairs, I think, than by flings with members of the same sex.

My original post was responding to a comment you had made that suggested that gays posed NO threats to heterosexual married folks.

7. ha!
Well...let's just say I'M not worried about it...as my hub just happens to be innately girl crazy, def I have seen that scenario though!

But where I live, among my contemporaries the most common scenario by far is: you get traded in for a younger model.

20. LOL! Yes It's True, Even In The Straight World...
OMG just doing the Xmas card list again, having to redo a few MORE Mr./Mrs labels...boy I'm tellin' ya! You know what?? The only one of our friends who have been together as long as we have, are gay!! Everyone else has split up (we married in 1986.)

Of course with my divorced friends, it is obviously a result of the media making YOUR agenda an acceptable lifestyle! Why are you so intent on destroying their marriages btw?? ha!

Edited on Wed Jan-07-04 04:13 PM by Rowdyboy
that would help destroy your marriage? I have a quota of 150 hetero marriages to destroy this year and I'm stuck on number 4. That Doesn't even include the innocent teenagers I'm scheduled to "turn".

Boss, I'm more confident than ever that serious Republicanass is gonna get kicked in 2004. WWW (Wes Will Win)

12. I'll drink to that
Rowdy, are you in Gene Taylor's district? He's taking a little flak in the Sun-Herald for, gasp, voting party line. So far he has no opponent and the deadline is Friday (I think). I will be one ballistic veteran mother fucker if some neanderthal announces at the last minute to oppose him. Hell hath no fury like a Retired Navy Chief scorned.

18. Nah, I'm in Bennie Thompson's
district. Sure did like it better when Mike Espy was my congressman!

I was born in Laurel though, when William Colmer (Trent's old boss) was one of the biggest assholes to ever sit in Congress. My first election (1972) was Trent's first race. I voted against him then, and have made a career of it for 30+years now.

Chief, ya got nothing to worry about. Your man Gene is a lock! When I saw that the Repubs were "targeting" him cause Bush carried the district, I just laughed out loud. Give me a break. No one's gonna beat Gene Taylor in the 5th-not even if George Bush french-kissed the Repub while giving him a million dollar campaign check.

14. 150 Marriages?
Well, that's nearly 3 per week. You better have at least 2 ruined by the end of the day, or you are going to be already behind on your quota!

Come on, Rowdy, get with it. You can do it. I know you can. Now get out there and ruin those marriages!!!!

19. I'm afraid my days of chasing straight guys
are long over. It was only in my younger days when I lived in a more rural area, was surrounded by straight men who liked to flirt, and it was all very discreet.
