In just a few days public hearings are scheduled into what the Kean Commission was allowed by the White House to discover in its limited investigation into the 9-11 terror attacks. Republican Thomas Kean, appointed by President George Bush to spearhead the commission, despite being a former bin Laden family business associate, has made some statements indicating, despite what the Democratic co-chair Lee Hamilton stated when the Commission was first formed, that he wants some heads on pikes. Perhaps he believes that the Bushies will offer up a fall person. Perhaps that is why National Security Director Condoleeza Rice has been asked to testify. Although, it would seem that the BFEE is exerting pressure on Kean to shut the hell up. The day after he made those statements, appearing on "Meet The Press", a haggard looking and seemingly cowed Kean backed off those statements.
I know that Bush’s political advisor Karl Rove recognizes the danger if Condi (who's professed Christian faith seems to include deceit, greed, theft and murder) is called to testify in public about her statements defending the inaction of the nation's defenses on 9-11. Right now, Condi is delaying by refusing to be under oath because of her sensitive “intelligence” position. Well, as she displayed back during the preemptively leaked “Bush Knew” controversy, when with a querulous voice she asserted that the reason intelligence and security officials were caught off guard on 9-11 was because nobody could have imagined hijacked planes being flown into buildings, she's a terrible liar.
