Thune vs. Daschle
Is Daschle in serious trouble? Who will be the minority/majority leader if he gets booted? He's been a joke as minority leader. I really wouldn't mind if he was taken out. He has no spine. What happened with the medicare bill in the senate was disgraceful.

1. I'm not thrilled with Daschle's job either
However, we cannot afford to lose any Senate seats.

2. Thune lost to Gary Johnson in 2002
They've brought him back against Daschle. I think that he won't come as close to winning this time, with 9/11 not being right in the forefront of the voters' minds.

I don't care much for Daschle's performance as Senate Leader, but we definitely can't afford to lose his seat, either. Thune would be 100 times worse.

3. bad day in the stock market today?
just kidding.

I think Daschle's ok, though he gets a lot of crap here.

I blame the republicans for the medicare travesty and all the other crap, I don't blame Daschle or the other easy dem targets. Let Rush and the other RWers attack Daschle, we should be attacking the real enemy.

5. You saw the CNN report.
Like Thune said, Daschle seems pretty confident that he's going to win this.

6. Again, we need a Leader with a safe Senate seat.
If Daschle is going to remain in that post, and yet have to run for re-election every 6 years, he will never improve.

Why, WHY, isn't Teddy Kennedy Minority Leader???

7. What difference does it make?
Has Daschle ever stood up for Democratic policies the majority of the time? No. Hell my moderate Republican Senator Voinovich has a better Dem voting record than Daschle.

10. Voinovich was against * last tax cut and Daschle wasn't
Voinivich was against further economic deregulation and was for it.

12. that's it?
based on the tax cut vote and the vague "economic deregulation", you say that Voinovich has more of a democratic voting record than Daschle?

You're standing by your implausible assertion that Voinovich voted with the dems more than Daschle did?
