HUDSON, Fla. Jan. 6 — Piles of trash, dirty lakes, racist property deeds and pedophiles living nearby have not deterred one man's dream of creating a Christian-themed nudist community.

"The Bible very clearly states that when Adam and Eve were in right with God, they were naked," said David Blood, executive director of the project. "When people are in right with God, they do not have to fear nudity."

"We'll make sure that no harm will come to children," he said.

Another problem is the deed to the dilapidated clubhouse and beach, in which the former owner had included language banning black people.

1. Hey, I know this guy.

Not personally, but he shows up a lot on a Quaker listserve I'm on. Been a fair amount of discussion about this project. Bill's been a naturist for 40 years or so, starting with the Wilderness Camps in Vermont and this is one of his dreams. Seems to have been some problem with a less than ethical partner in the venture, but last I heard he's been trying to get it back on track.
