Good News from the SoCal UFCW Strike!
Before anyone gets too excited, no we're not winning. But it looks like we are going to drag those dirty SOBs down with us. Ralphs is being sued for racketeering and fraud and the firm representing the Union has not only prosecuted a similar case to what Rlaph's is doing, but they won it.

On top of that, what they are getting sued for could be considered an unfair labor practice. If the National Labor Relations Board looks into this and rules that, Ralph's will have to pay backpay to ALL the striking workers for the ENTIRE duration of the strike. We may be going down, but we're dragging one of those b******s down with us!

3. I love it
My union dues doubled last year after our new contract got inked, but I wouldn't care if I had to pay triple or more if that what it took to beat these corporate pirates back.

5. I didn't see anywhere where you asked for contributions to your
strike fund. We have 36,000 members of DU. Could we each send $5.00?
Would that help?
I know that when the steelworkers were going to strike in my old home town, they solicited far and wide for $$, food and things. At the start of school every child got two new outfits, a jacket, underwear and socks and a pair of shoes, plus school supplies. Everyone's car got a tank of gas per week.Canned food and staples were given out every week, so that money did not have to go to buy food. The union bought fresh fruits and vegetables in bulk from farmers, helping both. The union bought prescriptions for continuing health problems. The union insulated many homes, so that heating costs would be reduced. And besides that, there was some money.

Could you use contributions?

This is good news, but unfortunately will probably be too late to help people keep their jobs. And it won't help the union people in the other stores where they were either locked out or struck. Did anyone go undercover in these stores and see if they were doing the same or similar things. Can't believe that just one chain did this. Probably a conspiracy of all of them.
